These were some life-drawing studies I did at a cafe with a friend, did them a while ago, just never scanned them until now.
Duplicate tool! No, I'm joking... The cows were actually lined up like that, so I drew them Went to the Royal Winter Fair the other day and drew a bunch of animals, oddly enough, the only ones that turned out decent were the cows. 8D And even then, some of these were really quick (5min - 15min) studies of them. The first one was done when I was sitting down eating. Everything is in the opposite order of when they were done. (The last one with the two cows were drawn first) Lol. Done with ball-point pens, markers and watercolour.
Started a class called Visual Narrative, and we get to draw comic panels and use comic devices in this class. For this assignment, we had to include a catchphrase "Are you alright?" in it, and here was my interpretation of it. :D Based off a true story.
So who failed at keeping a sketch a day for the summer? ME! *Is shot* In all seriousness though, school just started and there's already a mountain load of school work to do. Especially since it's my fourth and final year. Anyways! So I've noticed I haven't posted any finished digital work. Here's sort of a taste of how my quick digital paintings look like.... The ones that are more detailed are well, not finished..... Ahahaha.....
So I took a few days off from sketching, but I have returned with a beautiful sketch of two monsters. One of which was drawn by a good friend of mine, thanks for the ugly lessons man!
"I feel like a monster, someone save me from this pain."
Okay, so I fail at keeping up a sketch a day... But I've been at my co-op placement, it's a 9am to 5pm job, so it drains my energy. BUT, I doodle at work now... Pffft. Started this sketch at work today and finished it when I got home. Mixed media, ink, marker, watercolour.... And something else, I forgot. Oh, on the sidenote, this picture was inspired by two songs from an amazing christian rock band called "Skillet". Check them out, you won't be disappointed.
Wow.... A month of my summer vacation already passed, was in a bit of an art block. But I'm now making myself do at least one sketch per day. We'll see how this goes.
This was part of an assignment I did for class, had to follow a tutorial on Video Copilot and I used an image instead of text, done on Adobe AfterEffects CS4. And man did this program succeed in frying my brain. You can do some really amazing things with this program, but it's ridiculously complicated.
So I disappeared for a few days, reason being I caught the flu, am now recovering but have a terrible cough. 8D Here's what I managed to sketch in between coughs. My current avatar on gaia.
Two new images....More experimentation, and actually managed to draw a girl. That's a rarity for me. And it seems I focus and draw much better when depressed, wonder why that is. I've heard a lot of other artists are similar as well.
Recent graduate of a bachelor of applied arts (Illustration) degree program at Sheridan College. I have a very strong passion for art, and am always looking for new things to learn and inspire me.
